On a stormy day while on duty, San Francisco Police Department Rangemaster Sergeant Kevin Brugaletta’s vehicle was crushed by a falling tree breaking his neck, trapping him in the vehicle as it caught fire. He was rescued by the fire department and sustained a spinal cord injury, burns and smoke inhalation. He spent seven months in an intensive care and rehabilitation hospital out of state, during which his pregnant wife gave birth to their second daughter.
Currently, Kevin resides in California with his wife, Brittany and his daughters, Aila and Ada. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family, watching his girls grow, spending time with his wife and going to concerts and comedy shows. In the future, he is excited to continue to make strides in his recovery, gain more independence, be present in his daughters lives and grow old with his wife. Kevin is eternally grateful to Tunnel to Towers for relieving a large amount of stress from himself and his family. Living in his smart home will aid with his independence and accessibility. Finally, Kevin would like others to know that he will not give up on his recovery. He maintains a positive outlook on life and continues to tackle rehabilitation head on.
